Main Art Supply sold its first paint brushes and first tubes of paint in 1980. That's when Janet DeCover and Rudi Winebrenner, both professional artists and Richmond residents, opened their new store in the city's Fan District, at the southeast corner of Main and Lombardy.
Today, thirty years later, bolstered by the inclusion of 3rd partner Josh Aubry, Main Art Supply operates a state-of-the-art frame shop and a lively art gallery, as it continues to offer a large, comprehensive selection of art supplies and equipment, dependable savings, and the friendliest, most proficient customer service in the business. University students and professional artists from Richmond and beyond rely on Main Art for all their art-making essentials.
Main Art Framing is favored by corporate collectors, interior designers, and artists, as well as area residents with a wide variety of framing needs. And the 2nd-floor Main Art Gallery showcases exciting monthly exhibitions by seasoned and emerging artists alike. Join us on the First Friday of every month, from 7 to 9 pm, for a casual opening reception in the Gallery (you'll usually be able to meet the artists). Or just drop by anytime to see all that we have to offer.
