Interested in showing your work?
Like Main Art Framing, Main Art Gallery is located on the second floor of Main Art Supply. Our curatorial staff presents both established and up-and-coming artists from the Richmond region and the Southeastartists working in a wide variety of mediums, from painting and sculpture to photography and installation. Every month we showcase a new artist or group of artist at an opening that coincides with other gallery openings in the city, the ever-popular First Friday series. Please join us on the first Friday of every month for an opening reception (hors d'oeuvres courtesy of Baja Bean Company) from 7 to 9 pm.

CURATOR STATEMENT
Limited Reading Required refers to the idea of the impact of the works being derived more from the visual component of the paper engineering rather than the printed word. I have invited about a dozen artists (several from the Richmond area) who have either worked in the sculptural book arts or who create work which would naturally lend itself to the form. I have requested works that are either original or in a limited edition rather than professionally published. My goal is to showcase the variety of subject matter and sculptural styles but just as importantly the intense technical craftsmanship and necessary attention to detail.
Jake Urbanski, Main Art Gallery Coordinator
